NFS3: Hot Pursuit was developed for Microsoft Windows by EA Seattle and by EA Canada for PlayStation under the publication of Electronic Arts. While the core gameplay of the game remains the same for the most parts. You race in the best racing car out there. Although there some changes or should I say upgrades which are worth mentioning here. First of all the cars are so shiny and ultra realistic. Other than that the real-time lightening system particularly in the night mode, allowing you to use the high or low beam of light. Also the smoke effect produced while drifting, the water splashes and the dirt, when you hit off road surfaces, are the some eye popping features.

NFS3: Hot pursuit is a Racing Game. The game has both single and Multiplayer modes. The differtiating feature in the gameplay of NFS3 is its Police Pursuit. The overall gameplay has been categorized into two part the Standard Racing, like its predecessors and then there is the Police Pursuit. You either play as a racer chased by cops, or you can choose to be a cop to stop the racers from reaching the finish line. Upon completing these Hot Pursuit Challenges, you unlock bonus Police cars with high performance.

The Split Screen?
This version of the game introduces us to the split screen feature. This enable you play against your buddy on the same PC. This gives it an amusing effect as you are able to commentate on what you or your buddy is doing and that too face to face.
Gameplay Modes
To sum up, the game has five gameplay or racing modes. First is the Hot Pursuit, in this mode Cop cars will try to bring your speed down around 40 to 50 MPH. If the cops successfully slows you down, three times, the races finishes and you will be behind bars. The trick in this mode is to outsmart the cops by using non functional roads, taking shot cuts and driving them into a dead end. The second mode of the game is Knockout mode just like in NFS2. You must avoid finishing the race last.

The third one is the Tournament Mode, in which you will contest in a series of races. Each race accumulates you points. You have keep yourself at the top of the Points Table. Wining this mode in Beginners level unlocks Jaguar, while the expert level spits out a brand New Mercedes. If you ever doubt you skills, you can always race in the Practice mode, to prepare yourself for the big race. The Last one is single racing, in which you choose whatever car and race track. You will have to race against AI opponents.
